Vehicle System Engineering (V.S.E.) is the specialist and partner that, with thorough knowledge of vehicle dynamics, develops and supplies smart and flexible steering and suspension systems where the safety of people, machines and information is paramount. V.S.E. makes commercial vehicles perform and yield better in terms of comfort, sustainability and safety. In order to realize this mission, VSE wants to strengthen the business relationship with truck and trailer manufacturers as a supplier of steering and suspension systems. For V.S.E. we are looking for a Mechanical Hydraulics Testing Engineer (Junior/Medior).

Your job

After an extensive introduction and training period within the company, you will be partly responsible for the activities related to the mechanical and hydraulic testing of components and systems of VSE and partners. Your work mainly consists of creating and adjusting test setups, tinkering with vehicles, performing tests and creating and analyzing test reports. You will work independently in the test lab directly connected to the production environment and will be trained and supported by an experienced Mechanics/|Hydraulic Test Engineer and a team of System, Software and Software Testing colleagues. Occasionally you will travel abroad to support the installation and testing of new systems on vehicles at (new) customers.

In detail:
• Provide system engineering with feedback on test plans;
• Prepare and build test setups (mechanical and hydraulic components);
• Perform and document adequate reliability and verification tests of hydraulic components in particular;
• Global initial analysis of test results and identification of potential problems or areas for improvement;
• Use of specialized equipment and software to perform tests and collect data;
• Identify and diagnose problems in hydraulic systems, such as leaks, low pressure or component failures;
• Use of diagnostic tools and techniques to determine the root cause of problems;
• Develop and implement solutions to address identified problems;
• Document test results, findings and troubleshooting activities;
• Prepare and communicate test results and findings to development teams and other stakeholders;
• Support in the commissioning of new systems on site (worldwide);
• Advise on and solve daily challenges in the production environment (production engineering).

Your Profile

  • MBO+ /HBO work and thinking level with solid knowledge of hydraulics and mechatronics;;
  • Experience with mechanical and/or hydraulic testing and set up;
  • Good communication skills in Dutch and English (spoken and written), German is a plus;
  • Experience with CAN protocols is a plus;
  • Experience with data acquisition systems (particularly IMC) is a plus.
