Operations Director

The Operations Director is responsible for mitigating those business risks that can impact the profitability and reputation of Mobilize Financial Services (RCI). He/she deals with enterprise risk management issues and reducing those risks that can ultimately shut down operations. He/she has to work through department managers to adjust policies and procedures for risk reduction purposes.

The Operations Director is board member of RCI Financial Services BV. The Operations Director is also responsible and accountable for the onboarding process of new clients including the

KYC process, the application of the “responsible lending” process and AML and CFT assessments. Needless to say that this job requires an extensive knowledge of banking activities and regulations.

Is accountable for the risk management operations of the company, to include the integration of risk concepts into strategic planning, and risk identification and mitigation activities.

Principal accountabilities are:

• Create an integrated credit risk framework for all lending and credit activities that aligns with the company's overall objectives and risk appetite from acceptation up-to recovery

• Assess credit risk past, now and future, gathering necessary information

• Quantify credit risk limits for individuals, groups of individuals, enterprises and group of enterprises

• Develop plans to mitigate credit risks and monitor the progress of risk mitigation activities

• Report to management and stakeholders on credit risks and to propose necessary measures

• Accountable for client relations, among which the onboarding of clients within defined performance indicators

• Create and disseminate credit risk measurements and reports

• Communicate to key stakeholders regarding the risk profile of the business.

• Develop and implement crisis management plans to effectively respond to and manage potential crises or emergencies.

Client relations:

Maintain a healthy relationship with our clients. This is a complex interaction between RCI as a group and stakeholders as the OEM’s and the dealer network, the latter having their own relationship with these clients.

Mitigating risks:

Is responsible for defining and validating underwriting thresholds in such a way that the actual credit risk stays within the boundaries of the credit risk appetite of RCI.

Regulatory compliance:

A primary risk that businesses may experience is non-compliance with regulations. The Operations Director ensure that RCI remains compliant with all relevant regulations to avoid legal and financial consequences. To do this, he/she monitors changes in legislation, interpret how they apply to the lending activities and coordinate with various departments to implement necessary changes.

Reporting risks:

Develops and maintains credit risk reports to provide a clear and comprehensive summary of the credit risks of RCI. These reports typically include identified risks, their potential impact, the effectiveness of current mitigation strategies and recommendations for improvement.

Engaging with external parties:

Might engage with external parties, such as regulators, insurers, car manufacturers or industry experts to ensure regulatory compliance, transfer or mitigate risks and gain industry insights.

Key Qualifications

  • Experienced and capable leader: being able to inspire employees and act as role models for the sort of behavior needed to receive the highest clients appreciation.
  • Able to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Dutch regulations in general and the WFT (the Dutch financial supervision act) and WWFT (the Dutch anti-money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism act) in detail.
  • Capable in making the day-to-day decisions and implementing those initiatives together with line managers, and make sure the job is done.
  • Financial acumen. Capable in reading financial figures, making fact-based and independent analysis. Capable of addressing the problem and solving it.
  • He/she should have a master's degree in business administration, or equivalent business experience and 10+ years of progressively responsible experience. Should have experience in partnering and have a high level of written and oral communication skills (both Dutch and English), as well as a strong knowledge of processes.
  • Has a good command of the MS Office package with advanced Excel skills
